Premarital Counseling
Congratulations on this next step!
This is a time filled with joy and anticipation. At the same time, it can also be a time of stress. A mixed bag of emotions as you navigate this transition is normal.
I’ll help you navigate this period with increased understanding and confidence.
Prepare/Enrich for premarital counseling is one of the most highly researched assessment tools for premarital counseling and coined the global standard for all premarital therapies.
Prepare/Enrich helps premarital couples gain deeper understanding of their relational dynamics, personality, stress, strengths, and areas for growth.
This evidence-based assessment tool and our sessions together enhance your relationship by:
Improving your communication style.
Identifying your strength and growth areas.
Gaining skills to communicate more effectively.
Identifying core personality differences to increase understanding and collaboration.
Addressing key topics that often go unaddressed such as finances, sexual intimacy, and family planning.
What is Prepare/Enrich Premarital Counseling?
Assessment: Each partner will complete the Prepare/Enrich online assessment, a research-based tool designed to explore key areas of your relationship. The total cost is $35 per couple. It measures areas such as:
Communication & Conflict Resolution
Financial Management
Partner Styles & Habits
Sexual Intimacy & Expectations
Family of Origin
Relationship Roles
Spiritual Beliefs (if applicable)
Children & Parenting (if applicable)
Stress Levels & Personality Traits
Personalized Results: Based on your responses, I will provide a detailed report highlighting your relationship’s strengths and areas for growth. These insights will guide our work together in sessions.
Sessions: Premarital counseling with me is short-term and solution-focused, lasting 8 sessions, with the option to continue in traditional couples therapy if desired or needed. We will meet weekly or every other week (biweekly), depending on your schedule and needs. Sessions will focus on the key areas identified in your assessment, as well as any additional concerns you bring to the table.
Structured Homework and Sessions: You’ll receive a digital workbook to complete with your partner between sessions. The workbook prompts meaningful conversations on essential topics. In our sessions, we’ll build on this work, diving deeper into your reflections and practicing real-time communication tools and skills.
